ARCHITEKTI ŠEBO A LICHÝ

The ARCHITEKTI ŠEBO LICHÝ Architectural Studio was founded by two friends and classmates in 2004. Today, it is made of a twenty-member diverse team, thanks to which the company continuously moves forward

1991-1993

Igor Lichý and Tomáš Šebo, still as architecture students, receive their first awards in competitions: Nitra Commercial Centre – 1st place, Holocaust Memorial Bratislava – 2nd place, special jury award.

1993-2004

Individual work of Tomáš Šebo and Igor Lichý at their own studios, and in multinational companies Bouygues and Strabag in the construction of the Business Centre at I.P.Pavlova 5 in Prague, BBC 5 in Bratislava, and the PSA car manufacturing plant in Trnava.

2004

Founding of the Architekti Šebo Lichý studio together with the establishment of the ITB Development company.

2007

The studio has 12 members and finishes its first implementations: Vista residence, Olive Kramáre, and the PSA Trnava car manufacturing plant complex.

2008-2013

The studio makes good use of international experience from the Wallenrod, Štefánikova projects, and wins awards in competitions for the Castellum residential complex and the Museum of Ancient Gerulata.

2014

The House among the Trees is nominated for the Dušan Jurkovič award, 3rd place in the Central Axis of Petržalka competition.

2015

Residential building Nový háj wins the CEZAAR award and becomes the residential building of 2015; OC Brezno is among the nominees.
We were the most awarded European studio at the Baumit Life Challenge in Madrid – of 6 Slovak finalists we won 3 nominations; OC Brezno won the 1st prize, and Nový háj received the special jury award.

2016

The studio has 20 members and our residential projects include more than 900 flats in Bratislava and Nitra. Our green façade at the Wallenrod building receives a patent.

2018

The studio starts cooperating with Imro Vaško (IVA).

2021

The lookout tower on Devínská Kobyla wins the BigSEE Architecture Award and enjoys admiration and high attendance.

2022

2022 is a year of collecting awards for the studio. The observation tower won the BigSEE Architecture Award in the Landscape category. The award-winning projects from the studio were joined by the Erste and ITB Showroom office spaces with the BigSEE Interior Design Award 2022 in the Workplace category. We ended the successful year with a nomination for CE ZA AR 2022 for the GBC 5 project and a placement among the laureates of the Dušan Jurkovič Award.

2023 – 2025

We won awards for the Lookout Tower and GBC 5 from the prestigious foreign competition The European Property Award. The BigSEE Architecture Award jury awarded awards to our other projects – GBC 5 and Kolísky in Záhorská Bystrica. Kolísky also earned a nomination for CE ZA AR 2023 in the Residential Buildings category. Our other project Čerešne Lake won the BigSEE Architecture Award and the Best Residential Development of the Year 2024 in 2024, and in 2025 we completed a unique project – the Čerešne bus stop.

We don’t need to be original at all cost, but if necessary we are not afraid to experiment. If necessary, and if we stand behind an idea, it can even lead to a patented solution. However, our solutions are not created “for paper”. If we decide on something, we will follow it through until the end.

determination of the scope and content of the designed plan, schematic expression of operational relations – operational diagram, layout solution in the context of interior / exterior

AUTHOR SUPERVISION

determination of the sampling schedule, approval of mock-up samples on the construction site, control of the progress of implementation
