HOUSE AMONG THE TREES
A model for the House among the Trees was the Tugendhat Villa, not for the luxury but for the quality of the space and its contact with nature. The biggest challenge was the difficult terrain, where the house had to be adapted to the trees on the property.
The house is located in a calm location with mostly family houses and lots of greenery. However, the location near the city centre determines the urban character of the neighbourhood. The property where the house is located represented the greatest challenge: it has a complex terrain configuration and, moreover, the investor had a clear idea of wanting to keep all the trees on the property. The result is a building that cleverly avoids the trunks and crowns of chestnut trees. The nature and greenery permeate all structures of the building.
1st below ground floor: the space between the columns forms a covered area for outdoor barbecuing with a nice view of the garden. There is a gym and the base of the house, a garage with a green roof.
1st above ground floor: the mass of the day part is built on pillars, but thanks to the terrain it is barrier-free. The area is also accessible from the below ground floor.
