RÁZTOČNÁ – Housing for young people

The complex consists of multiple separate residential buildings. It’s situated in the peripheral city district of Bratislava-Vrakuňa. The investor’s intention is primarily to provide housing for young people with good civic amenities. A bicycle path and pedestrian walkway are planned along the bank of the Little Danube.

The design is based on the assumption of enhancing the quality of the environment with emphasis on measures to improve air quality and enhance the quality of waste water treatment technologies. Based on these measures the task of the urban-architectural rendition of the area is to create semi-closed structures benefiting from the courtyards with greenery. In the event of the alternative without a change in the air quality the design envisages the creation of a linear structure – a barrier with south-facing flats – which will ensure the minimal pervasion of poor quality air into the remaining area.
