The assignment of the contest was the conversion of the archaeological deposit to a popular-education centre and a weekend destination. The proposed solution reflects the effort to maximize the experience through materialization of historical facts and to increase the visibility of a unique location.
The concept of the area puts all the functions below ground, so only indicative reconstructions of the wall profiles of all four stages of camp fortifications remain on the surface. Today, only a few people are aware of the mass of the original fortification’s volume, so we decided on an indicative reconstruction that will also affect the panorama of Rusovce and make the place recognizable from a distance.
