The assignment was to process an urban-architectural city development design, specifically a low-rise building in the vacant lot after a manufacturing compound in the street structure of family houses in Rusovce.
Our design worked with repeated sections in a chessboard style. Its scale was diminished by using a rotated gable roof. The chessboard positioning creates residential semi-public inner blocks, sorted along the way leading into the square near the main road, with accumulated civic amenities. In addition to the presence of a parterre on the ground floors of the neighbouring houses the square borders a commercial building, which is in roof landscape also a continuation of the square in the form of an amphitheatre.
