BUSINESS CENTRE BREZNO

The two-storey town-shaping department store is located in the middle of a compact street and logically reacts to the context of the environment. The building forms a transition between the historical centre of the town of Brezno and a residential district from the seventies. The building communicates with its surroundings through a transparent parterre, which in addition to its practical purpose also brings a sense of interconnection of commercial operations and the street.

The department store in Brezno is an example of a typical development project, the design of which is conditioned by economic efficiency. But it is also proof that, despite many constraints, it is possible to create a truly functional and aesthetic solution that also takes into account the specifics of the location. In this case, for example, it was a challenge to create an interaction with a bus stop right in front of the building.

The first above ground floor is made of a dynamic form of freely curved smooth surfaces full of walls and window openings. Their tilting allows the contact of pedestrians with the interior of stores on the above ground floors.
